A simple, responsive web tool to test color contrast ratios between background and text colors — following
WCAG accessibility standards.
Web tool to validate text and background color contrast according to accessibility standards (WCAG).
It allows you to pick two colors, view the contrast ratio in real time, and check if they meet AA or AAA
compliance levels. Includes dark mode with saved user preference, copy-to-clipboard for HEX values, and a
clean, responsive UI.
Technologies: HTML, CSS, Vanilla JavaScript, LocalStorage.
What I learned: how to calculate contrast based on luminance, how to persist user
preferences,
and how to approach accessibility through both design and code.
Fully responsive site developed with HTML, Sass, and modern JavaScript.
SCSS architecture with
custom mixins and automation via Gulp. Hosted on GitHub Pages.
I'm Augusto Llopis, a frontend developer with a background as a professional sous-chef — a journey that shaped my creativity, discipline, and love for building things from scratch. Originally from Argentina and now based in Portugal, I’ve always been drawn to design and technology. I studied graphic design for three years after high school, and even though I didn’t complete the degree, design has remained a core part of how I think and build. Today, I channel that same passion into creating thoughtful, user-centered digital experiences.
Before tech, I spent over six years working in kitchens — leading teams, solving problems under pressure, and
constantly iterating to get things just right. During that time, I also built websites for restaurants,
contributed to online forums, and learned design tools on my own.
In 2023, I made a clear decision: to transition fully into frontend development and shape a creative career
where design, code, and AI come together. I moved to Portugal and have been immersed in learning and building
ever since.
In the past year, I’ve been building a strong foundation in frontend development — combining my visual design
background with a growing focus on artificial intelligence. I follow structured learning roadmaps, take online
courses (Platzi), and use tools like ChatGPT as my daily code mentor.
I’m especially interested in how AI can enhance the creative and technical sides of frontend — from
prototyping and debugging, to dynamic content and accessibility. I've participated in early betas of image
generation models and love exploring how prompt engineering influences results, even if I don’t fully
understand the code behind it (yet).
I'm now looking for my first opportunity as a frontend developer where I can grow with a team,
contribute with both design and development, and keep learning how AI and the web can creatively evolve
together.
Complementing my studies with tools like ChatGPT and Copilot as learning accelerators.
